20 registered sex offenders reported as living in Genoa City in June

In June, Genoa City had 20 registered sex offenders living there, the same as in May, according to the Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry.

Overall, Genoa City had 20 registered sex offenders in June.

According to the Registry, seven of these sex offenders were incarcerated at the time.

Some offenders listed in the Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry are under the supervision of the Department of Health Services. These individuals are committed for treatment rather than criminal supervision, and state law restricts public disclosure of their names.

The Wisconsin Department of Corrections manages the state’s Sex Offender Registry, which requires individuals convicted of certain sex offenses to register and keep their information current. Registrants must provide details such as name, address, and offense, and are obligated to report any changes so the registry remains accurate. The registry is updated regularly and is accessible to the public through the DOC’s online database.

Wisconsin ranked 10th nationally for its overall number of registered sex offenders and fifth for registered sex offenders per 100,000 residents, according to a SafeHome.org analysis of state registry data. The group's data appendix listed 27,272 registered sex offenders in Wisconsin as of January 2025, or 463 per 100,000 residents, up from 26,972 registrants and 459 per 100,000 residents in 2024. Nationwide, SafeHome counted 802,066 people on state sex offender registries as of January 2025, up from 795,066 in 2024.
