Eielson AFB: 8 more business licenses issued show increased by 60% during Q1

Business licenses issued in Eielson AFB during the first quarter of 2026 increased by 60 percent over the same quarter the previous year, according to Alaska’s Department of Commerce.

There were eight licenses issued in total in Eielson AFB during the quarter.

More than 99% of Alaska’s businesses are considered small, with more than 52% of Alaska’s employees working for a small business, according to the U.S Small Business Administration.

A study by Civic Economics found $100 spent at a locally-owned business, puts $68 back into the local economy while the total is just $43 for non-local businesses.
