Cooper Landing: 6 less business licenses issued show decreased by 25% during Q1

Business licenses issued in Cooper Landing during the first quarter of 2026 decreased by 25 percent from the same quarter the previous year, according to Alaska’s Department of Commerce.

There were six licenses issued in total in Cooper Landing during the quarter.

More than 99% of Alaska’s businesses are considered small, with more than 52% of Alaska’s employees working for a small business, according to the U.S Small Business Administration.

A study by Civic Economics found $100 spent at a locally-owned business, puts $68 back into the local economy while the total is just $43 for non-local businesses.
