Norrback Avenue School: How many students met or exceeded math MCAS expectations in 2023-24 school year?

Of the 249 students of Norrback Avenue School who took part in the math portion of the MCAS in the 2023-24 school year, 38 met the testing standard (15.3%), while two exceeded expectations (0.8%), according to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

The students' overall success rate in the subject dropped by 2.7% in the 2023-24 school year from the previous school year.

Worcester Public Schools District, which Norrback Avenue School is part of, reached an average proficiency rate of 23.8% in math during the 2023-24 school year.

Meanwhile, 15.7% of Norrback Avenue School students hit the ELA benchmarks, and 26% were considered proficient in science.

At the time, 464,292 students took the math test in Massachusetts, with 195,185 students passing (42%) — unchanged from the year before.
