27.1% of Chandler Magnet School students met or exceeded math MCAS expectations in 2023-24 school year

Of the 255 students of Chandler Magnet School who took part in the math portion of the MCAS in the 2023-24 school year, 53 met the testing standard (20.8%), while 16 exceeded expectations (6.3%), according to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

The students' overall success rate in the subject grew by 8.4% in the 2023-24 school year from the previous school year.

Worcester Public Schools District, which Chandler Magnet School is part of, reached an average proficiency rate of 23.8% in math during the 2023-24 school year.

Meanwhile, 20.9% of Chandler Magnet School students hit the ELA benchmarks, and 24.2% were considered proficient in science.

At the time, 464,292 students took the math test in Massachusetts, with 195,185 students passing (42%) — unchanged from the year before.

According to a 2025 analysis from WalletHub, Massachusetts education system was considered the best in the nation, based on factors such as class size, student performance, funding, school safety, and teacher qualifications.
