37.4% of Pawtucketville Memorial School students met or exceeded math MCAS expectations in 2023-24 school year

Of the 163 students of Pawtucketville Memorial School who took part in the math portion of the MCAS in the 2023-24 school year, 56 met the testing standard (34.4%), while five exceeded expectations (3.1%), according to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

The students' overall success rate in the subject grew by 0.7% in the 2023-24 school year from the previous school year.

Lowell Public Schools District, which Pawtucketville Memorial School is part of, reached an average proficiency rate of 28.9% in math during the 2023-24 school year.

Meanwhile, 31.3% of Pawtucketville Memorial School students hit the ELA benchmarks.

At the time, 464,292 students took the math test in Massachusetts, with 195,185 students passing (42%) — unchanged from the year before.

According to a 2025 analysis from WalletHub, Massachusetts education system was considered the best in the nation, based on factors such as class size, student performance, funding, school safety, and teacher qualifications.
