Braintree High School: How many students met or exceeded math MCAS expectations in 2023-24 school year?

Of the 392 students of Braintree High School who took part in the math portion of the MCAS in the 2023-24 school year, 178 met the testing standard (45.4%), while 92 exceeded expectations (23.5%), according to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

The students' overall success rate in the subject dropped by 4.1% in the 2023-24 school year from the previous school year.

Braintree Public Schools District, which Braintree High School is part of, reached an average proficiency rate of 57.5% in math during the 2023-24 school year.

Meanwhile, 69.1% of Braintree High School students hit the ELA benchmarks, and 70.6% were considered proficient in science.

At the time, 464,292 students took the math test in Massachusetts, with 195,185 students passing (42%) — unchanged from the year before.
