Lake Forest Elementary School: How many students passed on their ELA FSA test in 2023-24 school year?

Of the 255 students who took part in the 2023-24 FSA, 37.7% met the testing standard while 3.3% exceeded expectations, according to the Florida Department of Education.

The number of Lake Forest Elementary School students who succeeded on the test grew by 55.1% from the previous school year.

Lake Forest Elementary School's proficiency level in the 2023-24 school year was 41%, 14.1% lower than the state's average of 55.1%.

During the 2023-24 school year, Everest Charter School and Everglades Elementary School students fared the best on the ELA portion of the FSA, with 83.1% of them succeeding. Meanwhile, 15 schools tied for the lowest performance on the subject, with none of the students passing the test.

There were 564 students enrolled in Lake Forest Elementary School in the 2023-24 school year.

Florida public school students performed slightly worse in the FAST during the 2022-23 school year, achieving a success rate of around 50%.

Florida's choice to stick with in-person classes during the pandemic may have shielded students from significant learning setbacks. A recent Harvard study highlighted that districts heavily reliant on remote learning saw the most significant declines in student achievement amid the COVID-19 crisis.

“Interestingly, gaps in math achievement by race and school poverty did not widen in school districts in states such as Texas and Florida and elsewhere that remained largely in-person,” said Thomas Kane, professor at Harvard Graduate School of Education.
