Cesar E. Chavez Learning Acads-Soc Just Humanitas Academy students ranked 1,337th in California for 2022-23 school year performance in mathematics
Of the 107 students enrolled in the school, 106 took the test.
Buckeye Union Mandarin Immersion Charter School achieved top performance in California in the 2022-23 school year, with all of their students succeeding in their mathematics tests.
California's overall proficiency rate stands at 35%, still higher than the Cesar E. Chavez Learning Acads-Soc Just Humanitas Academy's performance.
CDE data shows that public school test scores in the state are improving. However, they are improving at a prolonged rate. Consequently, it could take up to decades to close the achievement gap. The achievement gap refers to the disparities in academic performance associated with race and class. In this case, the disparities between students of the following subgroups: white, Asian, Latino and Black.
California's 2024-25 budget allocates nearly $76.4 billion to K-12 schools, avoiding education funding cuts for the upcoming year. However, some contend that the state's funding formula may be counterproductive. A Reason Foundation study suggests that taxpayers have spent over $4 billion on more than 400,000 “ghost students” — over 6% of total state school aid.
