City of Maricopa announces a Growth and Expansion Continues as New Traffic Control Signal and Median Beautification to Begin Next Month

Maricopa, Arizona, April 27, 2023 Maricopa's continued commitment to growth, safety, and durability takes another step forward. Smith Enke had gone under a lane widening project last year and since then, traffic in the area has increased considerably. And, of course, residents of both Homestead and the Lakes at Rancho El Dorado subdivisions have seen an influx of vehicles traveling on Smith Enke since construction completed. Plans for a traffic control signal at the intersection of Chase Drive/Homestead Drive had been planned for over 12 months and construction is set to begin next week. This new traffic signal also marks the first signal to be installed with the new standard of black, powder-coated poles. 

Porter Road has also gone through a facelift last year with the completion of the lane widening project and now will begin the final steps of its beautification process. Plans for trees to be installed in the northern section of the median are currently underway and the project is planning to begin sometime in the near future.
