Value of Energy company Highpeak Energy Inc. (HPK:NMQ) based in Fort Worth fell 100% on Feb. 1

Value in Energy stocks rose 0.6 percent on Feb. 1 from the previous day.

The strongest performing Energy company in Texas was Earthstone Energy Inc. (ESTE:NYQ), sitting 46,924,600.2 percent higher to sell at $13.78.

Conocophillips (COP:NYQ) fared the worst among Texas companies, suffering a 100 percent drop to $117.7.

Among Fort Worth companies, Highpeak Energy Inc. (HPK:NMQ) saw the biggest fall in value of 100 percent on Feb. 1.

The Industrials sector was the daily best-performing sector on the market.

Basic Materials was the worst-performing sector.

Healthcare and technology stocks are viewed as the safest bets for long-term gains.

Besty Kuekcer with Benzinga.com said healthcare-related stocks, such as hospital conglomerates and insurance companies, have weathered numerous economic crises and still make a profit, suggesting that they are generally a stable investment.

While technology stocks can be more risky, given the boom-bust nature of new tech companies, Kuecker recommended a diverse portfolio of tech companies to strike it big when companies succeed or sell to other larger companies.

For short-term investments, Kuecker recommended “consumer discretionary” stocks, which are sensitive to economic changes but can rise greatly on the back of a strong economy.
