Obituaries of Dixie P. Webb and Gregory Edwin Paulin
October 11, 1956 - January 31, 2023
Dixie P. Webb, 66, our beloved wife, mother, and friend passed away peacefully in her home on January 31, 2023 due to complications from diabetes. She was born in Spanish Fork to William “Dick” and Sherrie (Larsen) Peery on October 11, 1956. She loved growing up in Spanish Fork with her two brothers but also many other places near and far as a military family, including Germany. She always had a good story to share about that time in her life, which she recalled fondly.
She fell in love with her childhood sweetheart, Sterling, and they were married on September 8, 1973. She would frequently talk about the countless memories of growing up together, the two families were inseparable before, and after their marriage.
Dixie was the best mother and grandmother a family could ever ask for, always putting herself second to their comfort and relief. She always would go out of her way to spend time with her grandchildren, and you would frequently find her making tasty treats or meals, and nobody ever left her house hungry. She loved watching her grandchildren smile, learn, and grow and they loved her unconditionally. Dixie had the most wonderful friends, her “Bunco sisters”, all of whom she loved so dearly.
An early love of arts and crafts lead to a profession in the floral industry. She had the best eye for making floral arrangements and knew the names of all the most popular flowers, styles, and methods. She was the very best at making a house a home, the warmth of her love will be seen, heard, smelled, and felt here forever. She loved to cook and lived a life of service to the wonderful people at the Spanish Fork Senior Center for over 20 years.
She is survived by her sweetheart of over 50 years, Sterling Webb; sons, Jason Webb, Casey (Jennifer) Webb, Cody (Felicia) Webb all of Spanish Fork; grandchildren, Ashley (Kyle) Jones of Rock Springs, Wyoming, Colby, Shayla, Trenton, Kallie (Steven) Stagg, Kyle Webb, Katie Webb, Karl Webb, Benjamin Webb, Gavin Webb; six great grandchildren; two brothers, Russell Peery and William Peery of California; and countless relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, grandparents, and grandson Skyler Webb.
Goodbye “Dix”, mom, mama, ‘amma; we will love you and remember you forever. Until we meet again.
Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life, to be held at the Walker Family Mortuary on February 8th at 1:00pm, 187 South Main Street, Spanish Fork. In lieu of monetary donations, the family would be honored to share with you in Dixie’s love of roses and daisies.
November 2, 1972 - February 3, 2023
Gregory Edwin Paulin was born on November 2nd, 1972 in Salinas, CA at a whopping 9lbs 6 oz. He was born to Carl Edwin Paulin and Marilyn Christine Paulin. They already had two daughters and were so excited to be blessed with a son. To say Greg was showered with love from day one would be an understatement. He was adored by his parents and sisters, Jennifer and Stephanie. He would always say how much fun he had growing up with two older sisters, even when they would steal his GI Joe jeep and paint it pink for their barbies.
Greg’s childhood was spent taking camping trips along the coast with his family, building skate ramps and forts in his backyard, making baked treats to enter at the county fair, and spending his mornings before school heading over to Monterey to surf or skim board. He loved spending time at the ocean.
He attended North Salinas High where he excelled in football and pole vaulting. His senior year he was voted best tight end out of seven schools and in pole vaulting won a medal at the state championships. He also was voted best looking in his senior yearbook. As he got older and lost some hair, he would joke that this was a blessing and a curse because it was always the guys that were voted best looking that would wind up going bald. One other area he excelled in was auto mechanics and he won several awards in this area as well. Greg always loved working on cars and in true Greg fashion of serving others, you could often find him fixing his mom’s or sister’s brakes.
After high school Greg attended Fresno State University where he would wind up graduating with his bachelors degree in mechanical engineering. During his time at college he joined the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity where he would make lifelong friendships. He also met Genell Nahas who he would wind up marrying. Together they raised three daughters, Carleigh, Ryleigh, and Halleigh. In 2020 Carleigh married Seth Eliason, and gave Greg his first son in law. You could often find Seth and Greg playing Madden football on his play station.
As a licensed professional engineer for twenty one years, Greg worked for several different companies in California and Utah. Flowserve in Springville, Utah was the last company Greg worked for. He enjoyed designing and testing nuclear pumps while he was there. During his career he had two patents approved. He loved solving problems and designing things.
When Greg wasn’t working there was nothing he enjoyed more than being with his family and friends. He also loved watching old sitcoms, Star Wars movies, and college football. He was a huge Ohio State fan and cheered for them religously every year, regardless if they were having a good year or not. Golf and skiing were also two other activities he enjoyed. As he got older he also found a love for growing a garden.
Although Greg is no longer physically with us, we know he will be close by. For now we find peace in knowing he is with our Father in heaven and his family that had gone before him. We are so thankful for the time we had with him, and we know that families are forever and we will all be together again one day.
We love you Greg. Till we meet again.
